Grade II listed house in Gloucestershire
DHV Architects have recently received planning permission for the conversion of this Grade II listed house in Gloucestershire. The house was built in the late 1840s as part of an Asylum which was built between 1833-1835. The property once served as a wing to the institution but was discontinued in 1948 and annexed into a detached property in 1968.
The project aims to restore historic character of the building through internal modifications such as vaulted ceiling restoration whilst implementing new roof access, roof-mounted solar PV panels and an air source heat pump. In addition, changes of an external window to a door; and a new entrance extension in the location of a link building demolished in 1968 will improve the functionality and accessibility of the dwelling.
