DHV Architects designed a contemporay side return extension to a mid-terrace Victorian house in North Bristol. The project creates a generous kitchen and a dining area with a bespoke, built-in bench to optimise the layout. The extension’s roof is entirely glazed to ensure plenty of daylight into the existing back room. Following removal of the existing side wall, the new steel posts and beam are left exposed and painted yellow to provide a striking visual feature. This project was carried out in collaboration with Fit Architects.
