Tyntesfield National Trust Visitor Hub

DHV Architects have been leading the implementation of a new visitor welcome centre at Home Farm for the National Trust Tyntesfield estate. Home Farm is a Grade II* listed model farm built by the Gibbs family in the 1880s. Following a major conversion project in 2010-11, Home Farm now serves as the visitor hub for the extensive Victorian estate. Increasing visitor numbers are putting a strain on the building and taking the visitor welcome area out of the listed farm buildings will help to enhance the historic character of Home Farm.

DHVA led a feasibility project which involved extensive consultation with stakeholders, Trust staff and volunteers, and local statutory authorities to help agree an acceptable solution for this phenomenally significant site. The project has been completed on site and is open to the public. To find out more about the project have a look at our video of the visitor centre.
