Langley Vale Visitor Centre, Surrey
DHV Architects submitted a competition entry for a new visitor centre set in a centenary woodland in Surrey (commemorating World War One). The building is approached via a new memorial path (trench) created by a procession of timber posts that gradually raise and form the main building hub; a tall, airy structure with a meadow roof. A low impact sandbag construction forms the adjacent service block.
